Hello and Happy New Year!

We are PUMPED to get back on the field this spring and hopeful that we have the numbers that we need to field teams at all divisions! I just looked at our registration report this morning and we are off to a good start!  We currently have players registered for the 10U Girls/ 12U Girls/ 12U Boys/ 14U Boys divisions and both HS Teams! However, as we get closer to February practices, we need to understand what our spring numbers will look like!

I have talked to many of you, concerned about whether we'll have enough players for our youth divisions - especially those that have played in purple jerseys for a couple of years. We have a documented agreement between clubs that determines where the players must register. If a club determines that a particular division will not have sufficient numbers to field a team, the clubs will then work together to ensure that each player an opportunity to have a season!
 
The standing agreement is as follows:

For us to determine our coaching staff  and equipment needs (and to start scheduling youth games), we need to know how many players we will have on each team. If you have not yet registered your player(s), please go through the registration process and get them signed up ASAP!

We do have payment plans available so you can spread out registration payments, and here are the steps you'll need to complete registration:

1. USA Lacrosse Membership – You will be asked for your players membership ID # during registration. Please have that ready prior to starting the registration process.

2. Register Online - Once you have your USA Lacrosse member ID numbers, go to our registration page and sign up your player(s) - https://www.avonlacrosse.club/Default.aspx?tabid=2120956
   • Note: There is a family discount that provides a $40 discount off of your 2^nd player and $10 for each additional player registered! We field teams from 3^rd grade through high school - maybe you have another child interested in playing!
     
     
3. Volunteer Opportunities - During registration, you will be asked to select a parent volunteer position for the season. Please consider helping to coach, line the fields, run the game clock/ scoreboard, become an announcer for home games, film games, keep statistics or help with concessions! There are so many ways that you can help to make this season a success!
   • If you are interested in coaching one of our youth teams, we are happy to help you achieve your official USA Lacrosse Level 1/2 coaching certification and reimburse your clinic fees once successfully completed!
     
     
4. Spread the word! Lacrosse is a fantastic secondary sport for all athletes! Our short spring season (March – May) means that athletes that already play football, soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball, tennis, cheer, run cross country or wrestle in the fall and winter can transition right into spring lacrosse!
   The conditioning gained and maintained through our lacrosse season will better prepare athletes for summer/ fall sports!
   
   
5. Follow/ Like/ Share - We want to share our love for the game with as many people as we can!
